Delving into reaches of music previously untouched by most of today's psychedelic electronic producers, Fabula aims to offer the world community a fresh new sound and alternative. Their latest compilation, "Ultrapop 2" is the fruit of their dilligent labor and creativity, and what a juicy, ripe piece of fruit it is! Handpicking talent from Scandinavia to America to New Zealand, the audio alchemists of "Ultrapop 2" draw influences from a spectrum of genres, packing all the sexy dance flavors of jazz, swing, blues, funk, motown and so much more into cutting edge 21st century psy-trance... and the result is impressive, refreshing, and, in a nutshell, just what the world psy-trance scene needs! These artists have proved themselves already in the dancefloor and studio, and the sum of this album is even greater than the parts... check out "Ultrapop 2" and hear for yourself what fresh perspectives and creative innovation Fabula Records is bringing to the table. Talpa - Miss Ivon[/url:3715f21i][/*:m:3715f21i][/list:u:3715f21i] [size=117:3715f21i][b:3715f21i]TRACK BY TRACK:[/b:3715f21i][/size:3715f21i] [b:3715f21i]Tom Cosm- Swagger[/b:3715f21i] This glitch-tastic breakselectro track by one of New Zealand's up-and-coming finest, Tom Cosm, makes you feel like a kid again! From the lo-fi retro video gamey melodies to the Frankenstein of a rhythm and beat carefully stitched together from a cornucopia of unique synth squelches and samples, this one will put a sway in your step. Tom meshes together the best sounds of the past and present here. [b:3715f21i]Vishnudata & Dr.Nipert - We Are Family[/b:3715f21i] Classically trained Finnish artist Vishnudata teams up with Kiwa's side project to parent a tribal housey stomper that's very heavy on the psychedelic tip. These guys had a contest to see how many different sounds they could throw at you in this one... with a raw dirty bass undercurrent and 80's synth waves that are a blast from the past, "Family" scores high on the danceability charts. [b:3715f21i]Kiwa - Get Wet[/b:3715f21i] Finnish style-blenders Kiwa shaowcase "Get Wet" next. Aptly named, this one is a sweat breaker! The tempo gets kicked up a subtle notch and elements of tribal house, progressive and psychedelic trance get mixed together to bake a musical space cake that inspires obtuse physical and mental convolutions on the dancefloor. Once again Kiwa rocks this one with their signature style displayed quite nicely here. [b:3715f21i]Loopus In Fabula - Fat Ladies Bingo (Itaytaiko Thin Rmx)[/b:3715f21i] By now Loopus in Fabula should need no introduction. "Fat Ladies Bingo" is the title track from their upcoming album, and if this remix is any example, it'll be one worth getting! This is one smooth sloping track of upwards building energy... thick bass more felt than heard, sexy synth substrata, and airy mood inspiring zips, pads, tweets and samples, all to a tribal stomping dance beat. [b:3715f21i]Krumelur - Pigg[/b:3715f21i] For those who like their dance music mean, nasty, gritty and horny, Swedish artist Krumelur has one for you... "Pigg" offers us a four-on-the-floor rocker with pumping synth wave currents, filtered congas ping-ponging about the soundscape, and inimically alien reverbes soundsheets layering the background. This track is born to be enjoyed outdoors, at night... or in your neighborhood haunted house. [b:3715f21i]Ocelot - Supercool[/b:3715f21i] Ocelot is one of the most widely known American acts right now, and rightly deserved... this track is the latest of an impressive discography of genre-bending tracks which focus on quality over quantity and are as much psychological as musical. Between the dissonant cascading synth melodies to the warped bells, "Supercool" plays your synapses like a violin, carefully orchestrated for maximum mental effect. [b:3715f21i]Loopus and Mauxuam - Civic Tv[/b:3715f21i] Loopus and Breakbeat/IDM/visual artist Mauxuam butt heads in "Civic TV", and what an outcome! Bouncy, low-grav bassbreaks and a constantly pupating precussion section could easily be enough to keep your body shaking, so much that the psycho-experimental synthwave subtleties, disco soundwork, and anomalous melodies are the succulent syrup on this psychedelic sundae of sound. [b:3715f21i]Tom Cosm - Psycurious[/b:3715f21i] In a name, "Psycurious" is somewhat of an understatement, for this track has long since come out of the psychedelic dance music closet! Tom Cosm has a definite knack for packing in a profusion of sound into just a few minutes, and this one is no different... jazzy, masterfully tweaked with precision, with a highly uptempo beat, each of the hundreds of unexampled sonds do their part to propel you across the dancefloor. [b:3715f21i]Paul Kearney - Too Weird To Be True[/b:3715f21i] Australian multi-instrumentalist Paul Kearney's latest is up next. "Wierd is a veritable schizophrenia of sound, whose colors and aspects change faster thant he faces of a Rubik's Cube, keeping your ears on their toes. A jazzy, grinding bassline and a highly twisted, elastic rhythm synth keep things contiguous. A catchy, eclectic offering of dance grooves made to make you smile and nod. [b:3715f21i]Loopus In Fabula - Radio Exp[/b:3715f21i] Loopus serves up a second helping of psychedelic dance anthem goodness... A hybridization of guitar licks and bass are a tribute to the gods of rock all set to an echoy tribal dance beat amongst an alien environment of synth warbles and audio mating calls. A great track to be experienced indoors or out, "Radio is chock full of kaleidoscopic soundscapes to add sexy spice to any playlist. [b:3715f21i]Talpa - Miss Ivon[/b:3715f21i] Serbian artist Talpa is known across Europe and aboard for his tracks and sets which assimilate apects of amny genres into one, and "Miss Ivon" is no different... soundling like a sort of big beat jazz ensemble performed by robots from outer space with a back-to-back pairing of Havana cuban and gothic organ noises, the soundtrack is set for the ensuing landding pad laser and phaser shootout that is this eclectic track. :) We are looking for quality promoters, festivals, and production crews worldwide to host Fabula Records Label parties with acts from breaks to proggy to trance... feel free to contact robin@triskelemanagement.com or info@fabularecords.com to discuss what’s on offer.
